NICO Laget

Composer / Producer / Engineer / Educator

Nicolas Laget (call him Nico) plays flute, tenor sax, and keys. He loves writing movie scores and string arrangements but has a genuine appreciation and respect for all music that is honest and true. He brings this love into any project that comes his way and happily collaborates with any musician who finds his input and skill helpful.  

Nico won TIVA Peer Gold Award for best film score composition in 2012 and 2013.   He is an experienced producer with many major label releases under his belt. He is a voting member of the Recording Academy and has served on the board of the Washington D.C. Grammy chapter for years.

Nico is also the founder and lead engineer of the Sweet Spot Studio.

cordele glass

Producer / Sound Designer / Drummer / Creativity Coach

Cordele Glass (Stage name: Hawt Coco) has been a dedicated student of music since the age of 10. He has competed in world championship drumline competitions in both WGI and DCI, drummed for the Golden State Warriors, The San Francisco 49ers, and Disneyland’s Holiday Parades. He has over 12,000 plays on Soundcloud and his music has made it into commercials for TikTok, podcast intros, VR video games, underground warehouses and festival stages.

Music has allowed him to channel chaos into something recognizable and personal. It is a meditative yet physical activity, and as such, rhythm and constant change takes center stage in his personal creative process. Marching Percussion, Hip-Hop, Neurobass, Dubstep, House, Drum n Bass, Techno, Soul, Funk, and Jazz are all foundations of his style and expression.

In addition to musical training he is also rigorously trained in the psychology of creativity and expert performance across the lifespan. He earned a B.A. from UCLA in Applied Developmental Psychology and a Master’s degree in Positive Developmental Psychology where he focussed on methods of enhancing creativity and wellbeing. He has also worked as an experiential educator and outdoor adventure guide for over 10 years where he brings these evidence-based practices and theories out into the world to make lasting change in people's lives.

Will Park, is a producer, engineer, songwriter, and an educator who graduated from Berklee with double majors in Professional music and Performance. Studying guitar, and vocals at Berklee as his primary instrument, Will is an incredibly versatile producer and engineer. His styles ranges from Hip-hop, Pop, EDM, and any other contemporary styles all the way to Jazz, Blues, and Acoustic music.

Lyra McCarmey

Engineer

Lyra McCarmey is an audio engineer, singer, and pianist. She earned her BA in Music Technology in 2019, supplementing her studies with extensive research into the psychological and spiritual aspects of music, how it shapes both the brain and culture, and gives our lives profound depth, nuance, and meaning. She has been mentored by many incredible engineers who helped train her ear in both live sound and studio settings. She has worked in recording studios in California and Virginia and has a passion for recording and mixing. She spends her free time unicycling, painting, and playing Dungeons & Dragons.

Samir, leader of the band AMbassadors of Morning, is an award-winning singer songwriter (Global Music Award winner and Hollywood Music and Media Award) with top charting songs in Australia and the UK.  He is also an experienced manager who has successfully started 2 music schools before officially partnering with the Sweet Spot.

 
 

Rae Wallace

There is no campaign too complex, no project too simple, or tweet too limited in characters for this innovator to inject her creative 'Raes' into! In her years of experience, she has become a star when it comes to creating and developing integrated marketing campaigns. She has acted as a marketing manager, editor, campaign strategist, social media manager, graphic artist, and brand ambassador. She received her B.A. at Temple University and has paused her Master's in digital communications at Johns Hopkins University to refocus on creating, singing, and performing her music! Tamara Wellons

Singer / Songwriter

Tamara Wellons is an independent American singer, songwriter and producer of Soul, Jazz and House Music and has executive produced three full length albums (Life Is 2008; Songs for Janie 2012; Pretty 2016). Tamara is internationally recognized and nominated in the Roundglass Music Award 2018 Best Jazz Single category for the album’s title track, Pretty.

Tamara’s voice possesses the power to flow seamlessly from hymns to house music, upholding her southern Virginia roots and musical tradition, yet performing on prestigious national and international stages, such as London’s Jazz Café, DC’s Blues Alley, The Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts, Winter Music Conference and Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She is a two-time grant recipient of the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) Independent Artist Award for Vocal Performance. Tamara and her multi-octave vocal range has cultivated an audience that appreciates and values her sound. She has shared stages at Jazz festivals with 6-time Grammy winner and saxophonists David Sanborn (Silver Spring Jazz Festival 2016), Grammy-nominated Jonathon Butler and Gerald Albright (Richmond Jazz Festival 2016). Tamara has had a profoundly diverse career as a performer and a recording artist.

 

Mark Leisher

Artistic and creative visionary with expertise in partnership creation contract management and work flow organization. Possesses critical time management and communication skills. Managed all aspects of the Music Production and video editing of television commercials, TV shows and feature length documentary film productions. Film and Television Production: Wide-ranging knowledge of film and video projects from inception to completion. Effective at organizing and coordinating shoots; experience using production equipment. Conduct script analysis and contribute to script changes. Ability to write and edit scenes, treatments, and scripts; competent in film and sound editing.

Rafael Javadov

Violin / Piano

Rafael is a classically-trained violinist with a Master's Degree in Violin Solo Performance, Orchestral Performance and Chamber Music, as well as Teaching from one of the top conservatories in the world. He served as Music Director of the EthnoWorld Orchestra, which has performed throughout the metro DC area including at the Cherry Blossom Festival on the National Mall in 2017. 

Javadov is also a pianist at the Peabody Ballet School in Baltimore,  Washington School of Ballet and at the George Mason University Dance Department. He brings to his work a talent for improvisation and composition that is exemplified by the dance performed by the GMU students to his original work which was also performed at this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival.

A regular featured musician in the music we create, Rafael also offers lessons in violin, electric violin, and piano. He brings to his lessons over thirty years experience as a violin performer: orchestra, solo, quartet and duo. He also has over twenty years of experience teaching at all levels (from beginner to virtuoso) and all ages. Mr. Javadov offers lessons grounded in the classical tradition with a focus on helping the musician establish technical mastery and an ability to balance the musician's own unique sound with a sound that is beautiful to the listener.



Mike Moxham

Man of many aliases, wearer of many hats, Mike Moxham has produced and released records all over the world, notably on the label Libyus Music (Japan, home of Nujabes and Fat Jon) during his nearly 20 years as a producer DJ and Musician. Mike has run the gauntlet through many musical styles including Hip Hop, Pop, Various styles of Electronic Dance/Bass Music, Scoring/Atmospheric and more.

Lazzo (Annaken Media, Feedback Studios), is a producer, engineer, and songwriter specializing in the rock, electronic, dance, and pop genres. He has produced singles, EPs, and LPs for numerous artists and done remixes for Grammy Award-winning and Platinum recording artist LeAnn Rimes, Rites of Ash, Blue Skies and Death, and Great Good Fine OK . His music has been featured on numerous MTV shows, FUSE, MTV2, MTVu, and the Aeropostale® PS Mobile Application. He has taught Master Classes at the Los Angeles and Brooklyn Grammy® Camps, music production at Apple (Los Angeles), songwriting and production workshops at The School of Music (Annapolis, MD), and was a judge/mentor at WPGC 95.5FM’s ‘The Opportunity’ (Washington DC). In 2018, Lazzo founded his video production company that specializes in music videos. Lazzo is a member of ASCAP and a voting member of the Grammy Recording Academy (NARAS).
